Physical Therapy is provided at Molokai General Hospital to improve mobility and balance, restore function, reduce pain and prevent further injury or decline. A variety of methods are used to include exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, thermal modalities, massage and manual therapy.
The physical therapist uses an individual’s history and physical examination to arrive at a diagnosis and establish a management plan and when necessary incorporate the results of laboratory and imaging studies. A treatment plan is established based on goals designed by the patient and therapist. The patient is then treated and monitored for progress towards meeting those goals.
